Description | We are aware of an issue in Office 365 webmail where users that proxy into another account and delete email then see the email reappear in the inbox minutes later. We have engaged with Microsoft and our Web Filtering Supplier (BLOXX) to investigate this further. We have subsequently seen issues with the login process too. |

2017-06-20 13:50:13 BST | We are currently running some tests with a few sample users to get their experiences and will progress accordingly. |
2017-06-21 10:01:17 BST | We have identified that BLOXX is causing the issues with the login/filing issue and will be working with the Data Networks team to have Office 365 traffic bypass BLOXX as soon as we can. Please note that for this change to take effect, schools should no longer use the PAC file. We will broadcast a message to all schools when this needs to be done. Obviously this setup has worked find until recently so a change made by Microsoft is the most likely cause for this issue. |
2017-06-22 14:04:02 BST | We have made a firewall change to bypass BLOXX filtering for all Office 365 traffic. To ensure users have the best experience all PAC file references should be removed. We would like user feedback as to whether this improves the login process. (Where the user logs in and occassionally get the "Page cannot be displayed" message). Initial feedback shows that this may not fix the issue with deleted emails reappearing. We are investigating this further and running alternative tests. |
2017-07-05 14:16:46 BST | A change was made on the firewall at the start of July which we believe has fixed the login issue. Please let us know if you have any further problems logging in. We are aware the issue with deleted emails reappearing remains unresolved and will continue to investigate the small number of users this affects. |
2017-08-09 11:51:18 BST | We are unable to replicate this problem centrally, and are looking for volunteers to demonstrate this issue in school with us connected and tracing traffic. Please contact the Schools IT Helpdesk on 37999 in the first instance to help with this. |
2017-09-07 09:21:35 BST | This issue seems to have been resolved. Schools are no longer reporting the issue. If this is not the case please let us know. No specific changes have been made to resolve this, so it is a possibility that the issue is a Microsoft bug and not related to our filtering. |
